Spaccanapoli is a 'road artery of the historic center of Naples and is one of the busiest streets of the city.
The name derives from the fact that divides the city between the north and south along the ancient route of decumano lower (closer to the sea) system decumani and hinges of the old Centre. The central decumano (via the Courts) and the upper (Via dell'Anticaglia) did not maintain the entire development greek-Roman era, as a result of subsequent action planning.
Spaccanapoli is divided into three segments:
• Via Pasquale Scura from the top of the English Quarters;
• The streets of San Biagio and Benedetto Croce Library that match the road layout of the ancient Roman and Greek
• A portion of fork.
During the Middle Ages it became important for both convents and religious orders for the homes of powerful men who lived there. Among the principal buildings may be mentioned: • Church of Santa Chiara
• The Church of Santa Marta
• The Church of San Francesco delle Monache
• San Domenico Maggiore
