National Museum

Naples National Archaeological Museum (MANN) is considered one of the most important in Europe for both the quality and the quantity of works exhibited, mainly those of age greek-roman.
It consists of three to four main groups: the Farnese Collection (consisting of remains from Rome and environs), the collections of Pompeii (relics from Pompeii, Herculaneum, Stabia and other ancient sites of the Vesuvian area, especially being part of the collections Bourbon), other findings are part of smaller collections acquired or donated to the museum (eg the collection Borgia, Santangelo, the Stevens, etc.). Artefacts from excavations in the area of \u200b\u200bjurisdiction of the Archaeological Superintendence of Naples and Caserta (prehistoric section, Cumana, Pithecusae, Neapolis, epigraphic section, etc.)..

Marmi :
Among the numerous collections which houses very interesting there is that the statue, located on the ground floor. Here are exposed to numerous statues from the Neapolitan territory, and arrived in the city over the centuries.
Very interesting and spectacular statues of the Farnese collection, found at the Baths of Caracalla in Rome. In particular, the statue of Farnese, an extraordinary piece of marble that inspired Michelangelo, and the massive Farnese Bull, a huge group of statues, the largest come from ancient times and that is the sacrifice of Dirce.
